Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam Ala Rasulillah, Wa Ba'd.
Ya Akhawaat fillah, I start off by saying that I do not mean to offend nor hurt anyone's feelings with this note, but that I try to advise sincerely for the sake of Allah azza wa jal and that whoever reads this will benefit from it, bi'idhnillah.
Having said this, I'm just going to be blunt and say that this note is directed to sisters who cover up in person, but do not on facebook and to sisters who do not cover up in general. Wallahi I'll be honest, you sisters are b e a u t i f u l and I'm not just saying this! So my question is, barak'Allahu feekunna, why would you want to reveal that which Allah has commanded of us to conceal? Allah azza wa jal said in the transliteration of the meaning "O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."-Surah Al Ahzab,
You know subhana'Allah, I'm not judging any of you beautiful sisters in a negative manner at all since we all have different levels of Imaan and flaws we need to work on. For example it's easy for me to cover now alhamdulillah, but once upon a time it was difficult. But as I grew and understood why Allah has told us to cover ourselves, I instantly fell in love with the Hijab! And the Hijab isn't just a scarf that we throw over our head but rather it is to cover our bodies entirely leaving the face and hands bare. And I'm not oblivious to the fact that many of us haven't had the opportunity to understand why we cover up or why we were commanded to do so. In stead many of us have been yelled at to wear the hijab or have been told by our mothers "My Father and Mother made me wear it, likewise you will too!"
And this method of enforcement doesn't make one appreciate the hijab, but makes one rebel against it, wa Allahu A'lam, perhaps this isn't the case with many of you sisters but it is very common! My dear sisters in Islam, realize that like every commandment that Allah azza wa jal or His messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa salaam) have legislated should be followed! For instance, none of us would dare to eat pork now would we? Why? Allah said stay away from it didn't He? Did He say why? No He didn't but He still commanded us to stay clear from it. So My question is why is it hard for you sisters to not cover yourselves up after Allah azza wa jal has commanded so and gave us the reasons why?
Who cares about peer pressure to look fly or cute or what ever, at the end of the day we dress to impress who? Allah only! Not our parents, not our friends, not anyone! We do that which we do in this deen with knowledge and sincerity for His sake; to earn His pleasure and to enter His Paradise inshaa'Allah ta'ala! None of us will say we don't want Paradise right? Jannah ain't cheap its hard to get there, it takes commitment and perseverance ya akhwat, it takes doing the sunnah and the fardh, the deeds which Allah azza wa jal loves! And Allah loves for His believing women slaves to cover up their beauty.
We can't live by a double standard! Covering up in person and than when its facebook or online we can take pictures of ourselves with our hair out, arms exposed, and all of this. Subhana'Allah, did you forget that modesty applies even amongst women? Even if your facebook is full of women on your friends list, this in no way justifies you exposing yourself! And whats more important to remember is that Allah is All-Seeing, All-Aware! Don't you fear Allah azza wa jal? Why would you do that which you wouldn't do in person? Remember Allah said in the transliteration of the meaning "He knows what is in the heavens and on earth, and He knows what you conceal and what you reveal. And Allah is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men)."-Surah Al Taghabun
Ya Akhwat, we're held for the actions which we do, whether in private or open, truly Allah is All Aware! I advise each and everyone of you to understand why we wear the hijab and learn to love it, and if you can't love it and still struggle with it, suck it up! Because we don't follow our desires but we follow what Allah and His messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa salaam) have commanded of us to do! At the end of the day none of us truly believe until Allah and the messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa salaam) are above all!
Anything that I said was wrong is from myself and the shaytaan, anything good is from Allah azza wa jal. Once again I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, but inshaa'Allah this reminder will make you ponder! Was Salaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu!<3
